1. The Centurion’s Faith and Jesus’ Healing (Luke 7:1-10)

Summary:
When Jesus arrived in Capernaum, a Roman centurion requested His help for a servant who was seriously ill. Instead of approaching Jesus directly, the centurion sent some Jewish elders to ask for help on his behalf. He believed that Jesus could heal his servant with just a word, without needing to come to his house. Jesus was amazed by the centurion’s faith and healed the servant as requested.

Questions for Reflection:

  1. Do I trust Jesus’ power as fully as the centurion did? (Luke 7:9)
  2. Have I ever prayed for someone else’s needs? (Luke 7:3-5)

2. Jesus’ Compassion for the Widow’s Son (Luke 7:11-15)

Summary:
While Jesus was traveling with His disciples to the town of Nain, He encountered a funeral procession for the only son of a widow. Seeing the woman’s deep sorrow, Jesus was moved with compassion. He approached the coffin, touched it, and brought the young man back to life, restoring him to his mother. This miracle revealed Jesus’ tender mercy and divine authority.

Questions for Reflection:

  1. Do I show compassion to those around me who are suffering? (Luke 7:13)
  2. How can I reflect Jesus’ mercy in my daily life? (Luke 7:14-15)

3. People Glorify God After Witnessing the Miracle (Luke 7:16-17)

Summary:
The crowd who witnessed the miracle was filled with awe and praised God. They recognized Jesus as a great prophet and believed that God had visited His people. News of this miracle quickly spread throughout the surrounding regions, further establishing Jesus’ reputation and divine authority.

Questions for Reflection:

  1. How do I share God’s grace with others through my life? (Luke 7:16)
  2. Have I ever shared my experiences of God’s work with someone else? (Luke 7:17)

Prayer

Loving God,
Thank You for revealing Your mercy and power through today’s message. Help me trust Your word fully, just as the centurion did. Teach me to reflect Your compassion toward those who are hurting, just as Jesus comforted the grieving widow.
May the miracles and grace I experience in my life be shared with others so that Your name may be glorified through every moment.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
