Luke 10:1-16

1. Jesus Sends Out the Seventy (Luke 10:1-2)

Jesus appointed seventy disciples, in addition to the twelve apostles, and sent them out in pairs to the towns and villages He was about to visit. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.” Today, we too have received the mission to spread the Gospel and proclaim God’s kingdom to the world.

Am I praying for God to send more laborers into His harvest?
Am I willing to be a worker in His harvest field?

2. The Heart of a Gospel Messenger (Luke 10:3-11)

Jesus instructed His disciples not to take a purse, bag, or sandals, teaching them to rely on God’s provision. When entering a house, they were to offer peace, accept whatever food was provided, and proclaim, “The kingdom of God has come near.” If they were rejected, they were to shake the dust off their feet but still declare the nearness of God’s kingdom.

Am I fully trusting in God’s provision for my life?
Am I boldly sharing the Gospel with those around me?
Do I hesitate to preach the Gospel out of fear of rejection?

3. Judgment Upon Those Who Reject the Gospel (Luke 10:12-16)

Jesus rebuked the towns of Chorazin and Bethsaida for witnessing His miracles yet refusing to repent. He declared that their judgment would be more severe than that of Tyre and Sidon. Jesus also warned that rejecting His disciples was equivalent to rejecting Him—and ultimately rejecting God.

Am I truly listening to and obeying God’s Word?
Are there areas in my life where I need to repent but have delayed?
Do I receive the counsel of my faith community as God’s Word?

Prayer

Lord, I repent for not fully embracing my mission to share the Gospel. Help me to trust in You, boldly proclaim Your kingdom, and obey Your commands. May I receive the wisdom and guidance of my faith community as Your voice.
